Every local authority in England has a duty to provide children and young people, (0-25 years) with support if they have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities – this is known as the Local Offer.  Every local authority has to publish what support is available on a website: this is called the Local Offer Website

Ofsted said about Early Years – March 2020

“Children get off to a good start in the early years. Staff care about children and support them to develop trusting relationships. They respond to children’s social and emotional needs well , which helps children to be happy and settled . Staff develop children’s communication and language skills, for example through stories, rhymes and songs. Staff hold workshops for parents every Friday afternoon with the children. Parents really appreciate this. Children make good use of books in their learning,  f or example, to support the model making of a car, a guitar and a zoo. There are many activities for children to practise their number skills. “

Children in Birmingham can go to school (Reception) in September after their 4th birthday. Parents should apply for a place in the Autumn term before their child turns four-years-old. Applications must be made via Birmingham Council – this can be done online via their website, or you can request a paper form from the school office.

Please note that attendance at our nursery class does not give your child an automatic place in our Reception class. You must submit an application via Birmingham Council.

In-Year Applications

Paganel Primary School has been judged as a Good school by Ofsted during March 2020.  You can find our Ofsted report here.

To apply for a place at the school during the Academic Year please complete an In-Year Admissions form which can be found here. If you are transferring from another Birmingham Primary School the form must be signed by your current school.  When you have completed the forms these can be emailed to enquiry@paganelschool.net or posted/brought into school: Paganel Primary School, Swinford Road, Birmingham B29 5TG.

To quicken up the admission process please also complete each of the forms below and return them to school.  We will also need to see an original birth certificate and proof of address.

If a space is not immediately available then the application will be added to our waiting list using the above criteria. Places will then be allocated as they become available to those on the waiting list.
