    Assessment

This overview of achievement provides attainment and progress data over the past three years and compares the school’s outcomes to the latest 2014 national standards.

    Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 Results 2016

2016 was the first year of the new tests and assessment procedures in Maths and English.  This year’s test are the first to reflect the new primary curriculum, which was introduced in 2014.  The Department for Education designed this new curriculum to be on a par with the best education systems in the world, and to give each child the best start in life.  Because this is the first year of the new tests, the results will look very different from those of previous years and should not be compared with them.  This is because the Department for Education have introduced a new curriculum and set higher standards.  It is true that in doing so they have raised the bar but this is because they want to match the best international standards worldwide.

Overview of achievement for EYFS and Phonics 2016

End of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS):

     Good Level of Development (GLD):

A reception class child at the end of the EYFS has a ‘Good Level of Development’ (GLD) if he/she attains at the expected level or above across all 3 ELGs within the 3 Prime areas and across 4 ELGs of Literacy and Maths (reading, writing, shape space and measures), within specific areas.  GLD is, therefore based on 12 out of the 17 ELGs.

By the end of reception (EYFS) in 2016, 39 out of the 60 children = 64% of the children attained a good level of development.
