Our new Autumn menu is available here.  Effective from 1st September 2020 our school meal price will be £2.30 per day, £11.50 per week, paid in advance.

Our school meals are cooked on-site in our kitchen, using fresh produce, as much as possible, and they provide a healthy and balanced diet which serves to help with young children’s development and growth.  Our meals are provided by Aspens.  The children can choose a packed lunch option which consists of a sandwich/roll/wrap, a healthy snack, a homemade cake/fruit, access to the salad bar and a drink.  If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 this is free.

Christmas lunch at Paganel 16/12/2020 – amazing!  The children and the staff loved the festive lunch it really tasted like a restaurant cooked meal.  Thank you Aspens catering team.

We are having our first theme day of the term on Thursday 1st October 2020 which is a Pirate Day.  Please see the menu here.

The children had a lovely Pirate lunch – thank you to the catering team once again.

At Paganel we operate a 3-week rotation of menu (you can download the full menu via the link above).

If your child has special dietary requirements, or if you have concerns about school meals please make sure that the office staff are aware, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Parents/Carers must inform the school office of what meal pattern you would like your child(ren) to have. For example your child may wish to have a school meal on Wednesday and Friday and you will provide a packed lunch on the other days. The pattern you choose will be entered onto our system to ensure your child receives the meal you request. Any changes to meal pattern should be through the school office. Changes to meal patterns should ideally only be altered on a half termly basis, however if circumstances change we can make a alteration mid-term.

Years 3-6 are charged £2.30 a day for a school meal.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are eligible for Universal Free School Meals, at no cost to the parents/carers.

Dinner money should be brought into school in an envelope, with the child’s name and class, date and “dinner money” written on it. Please ensure it is brought in to the office. Envelopes can be obtained from the school office, free of charge. You can pay weekly, or half-termly, in advance.

Pupil Premium / Free School Meals

We have a new online system in place whereby we no longer need to see any paper proof of benefit. This system is really simple and quick to use to register for Free School Meals. Click here to register or use the link above.

Registering for free meals could raise an extra £1,345 for Paganel Primary School, per child, to fund valuable support like extra tuition, additional teaching staff or after school activities.

This additional money is available from central government for every child whose parent is receiving one of the eligible welfare benefits. It is therefore vitally important to sign up for free school meals, even if your child is in reception, year 1 or year 2, so that our school receives as much funding as possible.

Once you have registered online you will never have to bring in proof of benefit again as the system emails the office when a family are entitled to Free School Meals. Even if you think you are not entitled to Free School Meals it is of benefit to complete the registration, as if your circumstances change the system will automatically email the office.
